Kings bulk up prior to season. Written by Anthony Wyng - November 30th, -0001

Blockbuster trade blosters Kings lineup!

With an off-season that hasn't  seen to stop for GM Anthony Wyng and his Los Angeles Kings, it has been quite  the turn of events.  A roster of new names and new faces, to go with the old players and returning teammates make this new 2008-2009 Kings team something to watch out for.  A blockbuster move, the recent move by GM Wyng, has brought in fellow teammates  Randy Jones and Daniel Briere.

Briere-Jones

"GM Wyng has brought  in quite the quality of players for not only this season, but for years to come. That is something that is no joke." said newly acquired  Daniel Briere, who is happy to have found his way to LA! "I couldn't be happier, it's  a great team, with a great history and an amazing city.  We will be fun to watch, and I know the whole locker room is looking forward to playing together this season.  I'm thrilled!" he said.

Daniel Briere was acquired along with d-man Randy Jones, tough guy agitator Aaron Asham and young aspiring Center/Winger Tyler Kennedy. In return, the Colorado Avalanch received Center Patrice Bergeron, veteran d-man Rhett  Warriner, young agitating winger Ben Eager, and some draft picks over the next two seasons.

"It's something we needed to do." said  GM Anthony Wyng through a conference call! "When Patrice was being inquired  about, we knew exactly who and what we wanted in return for the star center's services.  Exactly what we received was a star center in return.  I  am thrilled, the staff is thrilled, the team is thrilled and I know for certain the fans are thrilled.  It's going to be one hell of a fun season coming up this year.  We are in a great conference, and one hell of a division!" he added.

The Kings of 2007-2008 said good bye to a lot of long time teammates. Brian Smolinski, Tomas Plekanec, Patrice  Bergeron, Yanic Perreault, Chris Kunitz, Kristian Huselius, David Moss, JP Dumont, Ben Eager,  Stu Barnes, Ryan Whitney, Rhett Warriner, Bryce Salvador, Martin Biron, Derek Armstrong, Corey Locke, Ryan Potulny, Andrew Kozek, Tim Konsarada, Martin Lapointe, Stefan Ruzicka, Duvie Westcott, Teemu Lassila, and Nolan Schafer were all shipped out of LA one way or another, weather it was loss to Free Agency, or via trade.  The new kings have brought in, to replace and service this new look Kings roster: Daniel Briere, Mike Cammellari, Marty Murray, Radim Vrbata, Scott Hartnell, Scott Walker, Michael Ryder, Aaron Asham, Bryan Allen, Greg deVries, Randy Jones and Jaroslav Spacek as some of the noteables.  More additions have been made as role players/fillers that will start the season with Rimuoski.

It should be one hell of a season for the Kings, who look forward to the start. Again, it won't be easy, especially with the Division they are in, however, it sure is going to be fun fighting for the playoffs and watching these new looks Kings.
