The Heat is on in Phoenix Written by Gerv - November 30th, -0001

Heatley, wearing Team Canada colors, will now sport a new uniform when he dresses on Tuesday for the Phoenix Coyotes.

Phoenix, Arizona -- Larouche made a move to acquire more scoring and he did just that late Wednesday night. The Coyotes dealt away some major young prospects to land the scoring phenom from the Vancouver Canucks. The GM of the club sent youngsters Brandon Sutter, Joe Colborne, Matt D'Agostini and Montreal's first round selection in 2009. Some may say that is alot to give up for one player. But when you look at what Heater as accomplished you will then put that to rest.

Healtley so far the young man as scored 85 goals and added 173 helpers for a total 258 points in 306 games before this year. He as been known to be more of a passer but Jacques Martin is hoping to change that now in Phoenix. "I had the chance to talk to Dany since the trade, I just told him to play his game but we need him to come here and shoot the puck more then anything else. With Stastny setting him up it should not be a problem." Martin stated

"I just want to come here and start fresh, I will miss my teammates in Vancouver and had a great time but with this move I can now concentrate on being a scorer. Mr. Larouche and Mr. Martin would prefer I be a sniper then that is what I will be. I know I can get out there and score 40, I just need to be ready and to shoot the puck. Paul as great vision and should make it a lot of fun for Doan or I to make things happen around the net." Heatley stated upon learning of the trade.

Accoring to the Phoenix Coyotes brass, Larouche was not in New York or in Phoenix. According to close sources it seems that the gm is in talks to move Adam Foote. They could happen soon and also seems that Alexei Ponikarovsky could be moved also. Larouche was not available to comment but with the club now adding some scoring punch we could see the club adding another veteran to play along side Vermette and Williams.

The Phoenix Coyotes did not dissapoint either in their first action in season 5. The team played on the road against the Islanders, Fleury took first star honors with a glorious game with 32 saves against the defending champions. The teams skated to 1-1 draw and both goalies were stellar. Up next for the club is the Ducks at home in Arizona. Heatley should be in the line up while Foote may see his first action with the one game suspension of Shane O'brien who was given the suspension after a fight with Ryan Clowe. O'Brien was given the suspension for a sucker punch given after the referees were seperating both players.
