Future looking Turris-fic Written by Gerv - December 15th, 2008

The Phoenix Coyotes and Washington Capitals made a move to hopefully improve their clubs.

Phoenix, Arizona -- After months of back and forth talks both gm's finally came to an agreement and were able to make a deal that made sense for both clubs. "Corey and I held several conversations about the availability of Dustin Brown and Kyle Turris but were never able to completely agree on a deal that would work for both clubs and the directions we were heading. Finally last night we were able to fill in the final piece and come to an agreement. The club will surely miss what both Antoine Vermette and Milan Michalek brought to the club, but with the team struggling we needed to change things up. We wish the best in their new ventures and have no regrets of saying they were both class acts." Larouche stated early this morning.

In Dustin Brown the club acquires the young power forward it seeked to add. Brown currently sits atop the league in hits with 131 of them. The young phenom also sports 9 goals and 12 helpers. It is said that Larouche had been targetting this young star since the off-season and he is very happy after today.

Above Kyle Turris is being tagged as a future cornerstone of the Coyotes franchise. Some have compared the young phenom to Steve Yzerman and Joe Sakic. Larouche made it clear that we would not see Turris on the roster until next season and that he will remain with his NCAA team until then.

With this move completed, the gm made it clear that he is not done making moves. Several key players will be moved to allow the team to play young promising players. Team captain Shane Doan stated in phone interview that he had no intentions of leaving Phoenix and wanted to be here to see the club make the playoffs and provide leadership for the young upcoming future stars of the club.

I like this deal too. Similar to the deal Ludo just made, the winner of the deal will depend on whether or not Turris pans out. If he turns into a point-per-game player, than I think both teams come out ahead.
