CMHL "on the fly"

This week in CMHL on the fly:

  •  Season recap...

  • Inside the Northwest division...

  • CMHL Standings...

A car: 20 000 $, A house: 150000 $, A Computer: priceless... By Mastertrade, trade trade !

CMHL 2007 season continues...

And there it goes... Islanders is now officially in the lead coming into this week. With his solid performance, he is in the driver seat with 19 points. Chasing them are the still strong Habs (18pts), the Preds (18pts) the Bluejackets (17pts) and a group of 5 teams ( Sens, Devils, Caps, Rangers, Hurricanes.).

On the other hand, the Pens are winless in their last 6 outings with a meagre point gotten in a 1-1 tie against the Flames. The Blues are continuing their efforts to get the first overall pick in next season's draft but the bruins are ahead in the race though with 3 points in total this season, putting them in the last place of the standings. On a side note, the Blues had their first win of the season against the Hawks.

Inside the Northwest Division...

Sundin out, Modano in. With Brodeur in net, the best goaltender in the CMHL, the wild is on track. Solid defense, Balanced offense and good depth for the future, the Wild management is definitely a power in the league.

The Flames have one of the most interesting line-up NHL wise. They will need to find their way in the CMHL though as many of their players would benefit from an NHL rerate. But can you rerate a whole team? The center position of the team is possibly the best in the league for the years to come, which will give them a lot of firing power comes trade time...

Great mix of Youth and experienced players, the team's got grit, experience and leadership. Malking will lead the team for years to come and with Iginla, Smyth and Gonchar at his side, should do a nice job.

The Avs recently hired a new GM and changes were done right away. Team of a few big names, they will have to fight their way through the season in order to reach the playoffs. We can guess their GM is anxious to see Huet being called up on the pro roster next year.

When you managed to have Elias on the second line, this means you've got the depth upfront. With the recent loss of Turco, Gerber and Auld will have to step up and show what they're made of. A good team overall with a good management.
