Huge Blow Dealt to the Coyotes! Written by Gerv - April 8th, 2009

Above Sean Hill who was as been rock solid for the Coyotes since the trade deadline is now out 2 to 4 weeks with a sprained knee.

Phoenix, Arizona -- The injury could not come at a worst time. Hill was providing strong play and leadership to a young squad which is currently only 1 point out of the final playoff spot but with only 10 games remaining the Coyotes could now potentially see this as a set back.

The hit came early into the first period of play against the Sharks when Hill attempted to avoid a hit from Scott Walker and fell awkwardly to the ice. The Coyotes came up with a huge win and hope to keep that momentum going. Hill who had an MRI done is hoping to get back before the playoffs begin if the team can qualify. Martin was unsure and aired on the side of caution stating that he would need the green light from the the doctor before inserting the veteran back in the lineup.

The club will dress Steve Wagner who sat a few games and knows that he needs to give quality minutes to his club in order to push for that final spot. Youngster Picard & Letang will be counted on to provide more on the ice as they get their minutes bumped up on the pp and pk.

The Coyotes will play another game against the Sharks and hope to take advantage of the Stars losing streak to pass them in the standings tonight. The previous meeting the Yotes came away with a 2-0 win thanks to Fleury's 6th shuout of the year and David Booth's 2 pts.

Let's just hope that the remainding veterans like Carney and McLaren along with the younger players can push this club to its first birth in the playoffs.
