Kozun ready for WHL playoffs Written by Laci Bloomers - March 18th, 2010

Brandon Kozun, fresh off leading the WHL in scoring despite missing time with for the WJH championships, gets set to lead fellow Lightning prospects Kris Foucault and Michael Stone to what they hope will culminate in a Memorial Cup victory.

Kozun and Foucault, both selected in the 2009 CMHL Entry Draft by the Lightning, along with Stone (2008) are all coming off stellar seasons with the WHL regular season champs.

Kozun followed up a 40 goal 108 point 2008-09 season with an even more impressive 09-10 campaign, scoring 32 goals and netting 107 points in just 65 games.  He scored 13 points in the Hitmen's final 4 games to win the scoring title, including 4 assists in just 2 periods in their final game.

Foucault, who joined the Hitmen late in the 08-09 campaign after being cut by Kootenay, scored 22 goals and 43 points for the Hitmen.

Stone had a break out year, hitting 21 goals and 65 points in 69 games from the blueline.  Stone stepped up to become one of the leaders for the Hitmen.

After a disappointing loss in the WHL Semi-Finals last year, the Hitmen are poised to go all the way in 09-10, with Kozun and Stone leading the way.
