Atlanta off to a good start Written by ATLsimon - November 7th, 2010

Two wins in two games have the Thrashers feeling good.

They outshot the hometown Hurricanes 34-24 and took a 2-0 lead into the 3rd period then did enough to hold on for a 2-1 win at the RBC Center. Some oustanding saves by Hurricane netminder Tomas Vokoun kept the game within reach for the home team but the Thrashers were able to stifle the Carolina offense enough to grab the victory.

One disturbing trend for the Thrashers is that they are getting destroyed in the face-off circle. This is a skill the team will be working on during the course of the season according to GM Simon Heald. "Yes, we will work on that."

Next game for Atlanta is a home date against the New York Rangers tomorrow night.

team notes: Daniel Sedin has yet to register a goal. Daniel Girardi leads the team playing 23.5 mins/game.
