Anatomy of a Rebuild Written by Flo Rida - November 4th, 2011

Part 3 of 82

Well, even though we got the win and out shot our opponent (by one) I must say I am a little disappointed with the teams performance. I thought we would see a bounce back performance after the turd the team laid in the last game. Not to take anything away from Colorado, but they aren’t exactly the caliber of team we faced in the first two games so expectations were high for a dominating win.

A decision on who was going to play net came down to the final minutes. We looked at the schedule and for some reason we are playing three games in three nights! I’m not sure who came up with this itinerary but they have us traveling to Colorado, then Ohio, then back to Florida before heading to Winnipeg and Toronto. Probably better if we would have just continued on North before returning home but we don’t have any control of these things.

Ideally it would have been nice to have Lundqvist play the first and third games but we felt that we would give him an extra long break then see how he performs against Carolina before deciding on who gets to face the Bruins.

Bobby Butler notched his fourth goal in 3 games and continues to impress, while Josh Bailey is on a three game point streak. Logan couture didn’t register a point but the favorite to win the Calder did end up scoring the only goal in the shootout.

Changes for next game:

Redden or Walker back to second pairing.

Physical level to 0, Offense to 3

Stepan to 2nd line

Gagner to 3rd line

Lundqvist to get the start

Farm notes:

For some reason Tyler Kennedy was not allowed to play again. It has cost us the last two games!

Seguin has 5 points in 3 games
