Anatomy of a Rebuild Written by Flo Rida - November 17th, 2011

Part 10 of 82

Thank God for the Jets! I wish we could play these guys every game. Close games aside, that is 6 valuable points taken from a conference team that will be trying to challenge for a playoff spot. Right now we sit 2nd overall in our Conference with 14 points in 10 games (7-3-0) Last year it took us 15 games to hit 7 wins so we are doing much better and one would expect that we beat our mark of 17 wins by the half way point of the season.

Last nights game was a shootout victory, with Taylor Hall getting the only goal and Rask stopping all three shooters he faced. Redden scored his first goal of the year and currently sits tied for third in team scoring with 8 points. Only Lidstrom and Hall have more points. Not bad for a player we were considering buying out during the summer. But know we are glad to see him still in a Panthers uniform and he's definitly earning the his paycheque.

Rask had a save percentage of .974 after stopping 38 of 39 shots and this game brought his GAA to a respectable 2.25. We will continue to alternate back to back games so look for Hank to get the start tomorrow night.

We will stick with the same lines, eventhough they didn't fill the net, we would like to give them another two games to build some chemisty.

Changes for next game:

None

Farm Notes:

4 game losing streak.

Still looking for a solution. As the 20 game point of the season approaches, we will be shuffling players back and forth between the farm. This way we will have an evaluation of all our young players.
