Swapping Struggling Forwards Written by Gerv - December 12th, 2011

The Phoenix Coyotes made some changes to their lineup after GM Larouche was left angered after a 6 to 2 lose to the Buffalo Sabres.

Mikko Koivu, Derek Mackenzie and Mchael Frolik will be joining their new teammates today after they were acquired from the San Jose Sharks. Frolik will report directly to San Antonio.

Phoenix, Arizona - After seeing his team give up six goals and seeing some players struggle to be consistent Larouche acted and made a move with a division rival. The club who won their game 6 to 0 against the Rangers, made the announcement that R.J. Umberger, Fedor Tyutin, John Mitchell and a 4th round pick in 2013.

"This move was made just after the game. Yes R.J. played well, adding 3 points. However things needed to change. This move also allowed us to move Sharp back to the wing. We hope that adding Koivu will allow some players to get out of his funk. This could also lead to more moves as we move along the schedule. Our defense is leaned on a little to much on the offense." Larouche stated.

Larouche also mentioned that he could stay put if the new changes allow the club to keep winning while getting some players like Cammalleri, Pavelski scoring.
