The Buffalo Sabres: Dream or Reality? Written by PLC - November 30th, -0001
Well well who would have thought that after 5 games the Sabres would sit on top of their division with a 4-1 record tied with Ottawa and a perfect 3-0 record at home?

I bet no one could've imagine such a start specially with victories against the Habs, Tampa bay , the Sharks and the Sens! It really didn't seem to be quite an easy start for Hartlery's who only manage to fall to the hands of the Bruins where Giggy took revenge on his old partners! Pretty good to a team that doesn't seem to be one of the heavy contenders to a cup run nor a division title. But could this be possible that a team that only has Joe Thornton as established superstar? Well we've seen that team going on really hot steaks last year but we all remember the great fall with an awfull 0-10 ending season run... Will there be a repeat this year or will players like Parise, King and Ruutu fill the empty holes created by last years rebuilding turn? A big question mark! Add to that a new goalie in Cam Ward comming from the minors, will he continue his massive work between the pipe chasing Giggy's ghost out of Buffalo. Only time will tell but we might see a few other moves like the Donovan move in order add some key pieces to the club. For now stability seems the be the clue for this club who's awaiting for their prospect to pop out of the farm system so don't be surprise to see some big names make their CMHL "debut" this season!
