Captain's named for 2008-2009 Written by Anthony Wyng - November 30th, -0001

The captaincy has changed faces in Los Angeles for the  2008-2009 season.

After months of moves, between trades and free agents, the time has finally come for GM Anthony Wyng and company to announce the players who will be awarded the 'C' for team Captain and 'A' for Assistant Captains.

"I'm sure all the rumor mongols had this one correct from the get go, but  just to clarify, we are here today in calling this press conference in order to announce the team captain and assistant captains for the upcoming 2008-2009 CMHL Season." said  GM Anthony Wyng sitting at a long rectangular table within the Staples Center.

Two men came walking from a back room with three King's jersey's in place.  GM Anthony Wyng, Head Coach Claude  Julien and company all sit similing on this bright sunny Tuesday morning as reporters from the LA Times, espn.com, tsn.ca, etc. all sit and wait in anticipation to see who will be named for their respectful positions.

"It wasn't a tough decision this year, for we knew we had found a captain in this certain player long before we even acquired him." joked GM Anthony Wyng as the staff and crowd all chuckled along.

GM Anthony Wyng is handed a jersey, and as he lift's it into the air, the front of the Jersey is of course the Kings home Crest with a fresh branded  C upon the jersey.

"The Los Angeles Kings are proud to announce, as Captain of the 2008-2009 Los Angeles Kings, Mike Richards will be our leader both on and off the ice when needed and called upon." The crowd applauds the announcement.

"We knew there wasn't a better candidate in our locker room, and we discussed this with our whole staff and all team members of  merit.  There just  was no better fit." added GM Anthony Wyng.

"The assistant captains will be Chris Clark and Craig Rivet to round out the pack.  I'd  like to thank you all for coming today as we revealed a very important part of information for the upcoming season.  Enjoy the rest of your summer."

GM Anthony Wyng got up and exitied from the table while the rest of his staff sat around and answered questions for the media.
