Team Ratings Written by Canucks - November 30th, -0001
Here's a little breakdown of all the teams:

Anaheim :

Offense: B-

With Selanne heading their offensive line-up, which isn't a bad thing, but unfortunately after Selanne there is a big dip. With Selanne past his prime though, Anaheim lacks any superstar power.

Defense: C+

Surprisingly, for how well Anaheim is doing so far, they don't have a very deep line-up. With only 3 players over 80 overall on the defensive unit, it leaves liabilities for the 80+ overall players to try to correct. The good thing is, is that 2 of their top 3 are young players in Morris and Bergeron, and they will only continue to get better.

Goaltending: B

With a great goaltender heading the way for the Ducks, they are sound in net. Unfortunately Joseph is aging and won't stay in the league for much longer. But don't worry Anaheim has thought this out, they have Vesa Toskala as a back-up who is just waiting to get a crack at being the #1.

Future: A

The Future is bright in Anaheim , with the drafting of many blue-chip prospects, the Ducks have added depth to their already deep prospect line-up.

Atlanta :

Offense: C

With very few 80+ overall players in their forward group, Atlanta can really only brag about 2 players. Mario Lemieux, a guy I'm sure everyone in the league would love to have on their team at one point, and Anson Carter, a hard-working player who is able to consistantly put up a lot of points.

Defense: C-

Calle Johansson leads the way on Atlanta's blueline, he is complimented by Nick Boynton, and Jeff Jilson (both great young players), however like Anaheim's forward core, Atlanta's defensive core dips down drastically after these three.

Goaltending: C

After shocking us at the beginning of the first season, with Osgood playing un-human, that has changed, lately Osgood has shown signs of definitely being human. However, a long with Lemieux, Osgood in the catalyst of this team.

Future: C-

With very few young talented players, Atlanta looks like they are in a lot of trouble in a few years. They have very few blue-chip prospects.

Boston :

Offense: D

After trading away Richards, Boston really had no one else to score. The only two players that they have are Fedotenko, and Daigle. Boston is relying heavily on those two to consistantly put the puck in the net to give them a chance.

Defense: D-

There isn't much difference between the offense and the defense. They are both without their star player and are in definate need of help. Fotunately Boston will have both areas covered a few years.

Goaltending: D

At the moment with Montoya, Ahonen, and Holmqvist back-stopping the Bruins, there isn't much to say, none of them are #1 material yet.

Future: A

The most exciting part about this team, is trying to guess how good they will be in a few years. With all the big name prospects on a team, it makes you wonder is this the Stanley Cup Winning Team of the future?

Buffalo :

Offense: C

Cory Stillman is the best you are going to get on the Sabres, there is no Kovalchuk, there is no Nash, Buffalo is filled with hardworking players that will try to grind out a win in every possible game they can. Unfortunately grinding out wins can only go so far, without that "Top 10 Scorer" Buffalo will have troubles putting the puck in the net.

Defense: C-

Andrew Ference and Brendan Witt. Those are the only two players on Buffalo 's defense that can change the outcome of a game. The only to "good" defenseman on the Sabres are surrounded by players that have yet to prove to fans that they can play at the NHL level.

Goaltending: B

J.S. Giguere, one of the better young goaltenders in the league right now. He has yet to show us the magic he showed when he lead the Ducks to the cup( in real life). If he can bring that same magic to the Sabres, then you never know , Buffalo might be the Cinderella team of the Season 2 Playoffs.

Future: B

The future looks bright for the Sabres, after having 5 first round selections at the end of season one, Buffalo bolstered their future by adding junior stars like Corey Perry and Mike Richards(Just recently traded), Shea Weber, and Shawn Belle to name a few.

Carolina :

Offense: B+

With the cast lead by Tanguay, Rolston, and Amonte, the Hurricanes have a deep forward core with a mix of youth and veteran experience. This mix of players I believe will allow Carolina to make a push for the cup.

Defense: A+

One of the best, if not the best defensive pairing in the league, with Zdeno Chara on one side and Nicklas Lidstrom on the other. I believe Carolina has probably the best defensive core in the entire league.

Goaltending: A

With former Calder trophy winner between the pipes for Carolina , the position will be his for a long time. That is basically all I have to say for Carolina 's goaltending. They will not have a problem anytime soon.

Future: A

With Raycroft in net, Tanguay up front, and a bunch of new prospects coming in, Carolina is going to be a cup contender for many years to come.

Columbus :

Offense: A

There is one word that can sum up the Blue Jackets offensive line-up and that is "wow". After being a bottom sucker all of Season 1, habsfan made some big trades and made one of the best teams in the league. With Columbus ' offense leading the way, the Blue Jackets look to make their first ever post-season appearance.

Defense: B+

Not as deep as their forward line-up, Columbus however still has a fairly deep defensive unit. With a healthy mix of both youth and experience, the younger guys will learn first hand from the older ones how to excel in this game.

Goaltending: A+

Jose Theodore, and Mathieu Garon are two young goaltenders, and one has already proven himself to be an all-star. With a solid #1, Columbus doesn't have to worry, but when Garon needs to come in and play some game, there is no need for Columbus to press the panic button, Garon is just as good as a #1 and can steal any game from any team, any given night.

Future: A+

Theodore, Garon, Girard, Kapanen, Kobasew, the list goes on for a while. habsfan has put together a real contender now and for years to come.

Calgary :

Offense: A

Calgary possesses something very few teams have. Their offense is filled completely of blue chip prospects (with the exception of Prospal, and Kilger, and Demitra). Drury is considered a veteran on the forward end. With the acquisition of Demitra, Calgary has made their offense into one of the most dangerous in the league.

Defense: B

5 of the 6 Calgary defensemen are 80+. That is something very few teams have. With a solid blue-line Calgary 's forwards do not have to constantly worry about their own end because it will be taken care of.

Goaltending: A-

After trading away Lehtonen, Calgary weakened their goaltending slightly, but that won't cause to much worry, because leading the way is Tomas Vokoun.

Future: A++

There is no other team in the league that can go head to head with Calgary in the future department. Hands down they have the brightest future of any team in the league.

Chicago :

Offense: B

Chicago 's "big two" if you will, who combine for most of their points also combine for about a quarter of the teams salary. The good thing is, is that the price they are paying is getting them good results. With Satan and Allison showing Kostitsyn the ropes, he flourished before being injured. A message to the rest of the league, "Look out" he's back and ready to win the Calder trophy.

Defense: C

This is Chicago 's biggest worry. They only have one player over 80, and that is a cause for concern. If Chicago had a better defensive core, the offensive unite wouldn't have to worry about their own end and really only have to worry about scoring goals.

Goaltending: A

With the acquisition of one of the best goalies in the league in Khabibulin, Chicago has taken a big load of the chests of the defenseman, so that they know if they get beaten there is something there that will more often then not bail them out.

Future: A

Chicago has one of the best futures in the game. If I were to rate what place they would be in, in terms on future, they would definitely be top 5.

Colorado :

Offense: A+

One of the most balanced teams in the league, Colorado is a powerhouse, or atleast they were. After winning the Stanley Cup, Colorado was looking to repeat. However, that has not happened, the Avs offense has not been producing the way it should be.

Defense: A

Probably the second best defensive units in the league, the top two are Wade Redden and Bryan McCabe. Colorado 's defense has been lackluster so far this year, and they need to find a way out of the downward tailspin.

Goaltending: A

With the trading of Ed Belfour to Washington for Jocelyn Thibault, Colorado was able to gain some youth and not have to worry about their goaltender retiring anytime soon.

Future: C

The future doesn't look good for the Avs. They are going to have to rely heavily for their future on players already playing for them. With few to none good prospects in the organization, there is going to be some heavy planning put into the team if they want to compete in following years.

Dallas :

Offense: A++

Probably the most explosive offense in the league, you will have a tough time trying to shut down this all-star cast. Ilya Kovalchuk one of the best players in the game leading the way, Dallas looks to win the Western Conference for the second straight season.

Defense: B+

Not the deepest defensive core, but when you have Ed Jovanovski on one of your pairings then you know your team will be a contender. With enough talent to single-handedly change a game, something which few players can do, Jovanovski creates a window of opportunity for Dallas to win every game.

Goaltending: A+

Two words, Martin Brodeur, nothing else needs to be said.

Future: C-

The only real bright spot in Dallas ' future is Ilya Kovalchuk. Other than that, the team is filled with veterans. A team that is built to win now, not the future.

Detroit :

Offense: B

The two best players on Detroit are Brendan Shanahan and Owen Nolan. Two veteran players who know what it takes to win. Both will give 100% every game and never take a shift off. However, you can't say the same for the rest of the forward cast.

Defense: C

The only player on defense for Detroit that isn't a liability is Sergei Zubov. Other than that the skill level drastically decreases as you go from 1 st paring to 3 rd paring.

Goaltending: B

With Kolzig in the pipes, Detroit is safe, but when he is fatigued and when he retires, they are in trouble.

Future: F

The team is purely filled with veterans just like Detroit in real life. They want to win the cup now and in a few years start rebuilding.

Edmonton :

Offense: C+

After Edmonton 's first line the rest of the line-up trails off on a steep decline. The only real scoring prowess they possess is Jarome Iginla. Although they have a hard-working player in Smyth, he is not a player that can possibly put up a 100 point season.

Defense: C-

Much like their offense, Edmonton only has one player that can play with the likes of all-stars. Scott Hannan is the Oilers go to guy on the backend. With a very young defensive core, look for the Oilers to have one of the best blue lines in a few years.

Goaltending: C

A far cry of the once great goaltenders that dawned the Edmonton jersey, the Oilers have a veteran goaltender who is way past his prime. Knowing this they signed David LeNeveu for their future. Is LeNeveu the goaltender to bring the Oilers back to greatness?

Future: A

Edmonton already has a former Art Ross Winner with Iginla, and both Iginla and Smyth have won Olympic gold. With all that experience, and having them for many years to come, Iginla and Smyth look to show highly touted prospect Evgeni Malkin the ropes and make him into a superstar.

Florida :

Offense: A-

Florida has two high powered, hard working, determined lines, but after that the first two lines aren't complimented with any secondary scoring. Although if Florida can develop their 3 rd and 4 th lines, they will be a team threatening for the cup.

Defense: B

Florida has a lot of highly skilled defenseman that are young and have already proven they can play at the NHL level. If Florida can add some depth to their blue line they will be a power house.

Goaltending: A

Continuing the thread of young great players on the Panthers, the goaltending situation is no different. Led by one of the best goalies in the world Evgeni Nabokov, and back up John Grahame, Florida is set in net for many years.

Future: A

The Panthers have so many young great players, you can't name every one of the top of your head. Florida is set in every position and looks poised to win the cup.

Los Angeles :

Offense: B+

With the acquisition of Sundin, the Kings have not written the season off completely. Unfortunately acquiring Sundin meant that LA had to trade away Thornton . The rest of the Kings offense has gotten off the starting block at a surprisingly slow pace. Although they have picked up the pace a bit in the last few games, Jagr and Nagy are not producing the way they should.

Defense: B

Led by in my opinion one of the best defenseman ever to play the game, Al MacInnis. The Season 1 winner of the Bill Masterson Trophy looks to win it again. Although the Kings are last in the West, they have the skill on their team to turn it around.

Goaltending: B-

The Kings do not have a goaltender that can steal a game for them. Until they are able to pick up some better goaltenders they will not make the playoffs and if they do they won't advance far.

Future: B-

Alexei Shkotov is absolutely ripping it up in the ICHF and has performed well for the time he has been called up by the Kings. Shkotov looks to be one of the few bright spots in this teams future.

Minnesota :

Offense: B+

The Wild only really have two full "good" lines and that is when they are all healthy. Most of the time Forsberg is injured and unable to play therefore, the Wild are unable to have two complete "good" lines. Arguably the most dominate player in the game when healthy, Peter Forsberg has had a lot of injury problems and is unable to contribute a lot to the organization.

Defense: B+

After acquiring Chris Pronger from Vancouver , Pronger flourished in Minnesota , leading them to a second round playoff berth and himself personally winning the Norris Trophy. The Wild have a very veteran core and after the "Big 3" there isn't very much power to compliment them.

Goaltending: A+

Arguably the second best goaltender in the world, second to only Martin Brodeur, Roberto Luongo was the number one reason Minnesota made the playoffs and beat Dallas in the first round. Behind Luongo is a very skilled goaltender Manny Legace.

Future: A-

Minnesota has a lot of good prospects, but the best young player without a doubt on this team is Roberto Luongo. After being the first overall pick in the inaugural draft he hasn't disappointed. Posting respectable numbers, every other GM in the league would love to have Luongo guarding their net.

Montréal:

Offense: A+

Probably the second best offensive unit, second to only Dallas ; Montréal has not produced the way they should. After leading the league for most of season 1, the Canadiens have slumped this year and are struggling to make the playoffs. They needed to make a big move and ended up trading away Bertuzzi for St. Louis .

Defense: A-

A very balanced line-up led by Alexei Zhitnik and Kim Johnsson; the Canadiens look to avenge their Stanley Cup Final defeat. The reason why Montréal didn't receive a higher rating on defense is their inability to stop the other team from scoring.

Goaltending: B+

Robert Esche is the last line of defense of the Habs. With Esche at the back end, the Canadiens own end is safe most of the time. When Esche is off his game, there is no worries because as the back-up Pascal LeClaire can handle himself in any game situation.

Future: A-

The number one reason they didn't get an A+ was because Montréal has defenseman that are fairly old. On the other hand they bolster one of the most exciting young forward units in the league. They will be able to score for many years to come and possibly could we see the excitement the '70's Canadiens gave us?

Nashville :

Offense: A+

Easily the 3 rd best offense in the league in terms of how balanced it is. Although there isn't much youth on the team, that isn't causing Nashville to panic yet. Most of their experience players are either in their late 20's to early 30's. They still have a lot of years left to give Nashville a shot at the cup.

Defense: B+

Lacking a star on the back end, Nashville is content and is able to get the job done. Although not being able to consitantly put the puck in the net, they consistantly keep the puck out of their own.

Goaltending: B+

Although inconstancy has plagued Lalime's career, he is still a solid number one goaltender that anyone can count on for giving a 100% day in and day out. Patrick is young and only going to improve. The Predators are set in net for the next few years at least.

Future: B-

Not much to talk about here, they don't have much to brag about in this category. I would have to say their best player for the future is going to be Martin Havlat. A proven NHL star already Havlat will only get better as time progresses.

New Jersey :

Offense: C-

Although they don't have much offensive prowess in present day, one can only wonder how it will be in 3-4 years. There really isn't much excitement in the Devils offense right now, but it is fun to watch how well the rookies do.

Defense: C-

Similar to the offense, there really isn't much excitement in present day on the team. The best player on the Devils defense is Cam Barker, and right now that isn't much to brag about.

Goaltending: B

After trading Auld to get Biron, we saw a glimpse that Max might have regretted trading away his marquee players. However, Biron is a veteran he is still relatively young and ready to allow the Devils become a powerhouse in a few years.

Future: A+

Probably the most blue-chip prospects out of any of the teams. The thing that New Jersey lacks is a star player in present day with good potential. However, I believe they will be pressuring many of the top teams in just a very short time.

New York Islanders:

Offense: B+

The team that never could. NYI has a well balanced line-up through lines 1-4, yet they cannot compete with the top teams. They have all the scoring power they need, but they can't seem to click. Once NYI finds that missing link, they will be one of the best teams in the league.

Defense: B

If NYI could add another few 80+ defenseman to their defensive unit would be hard to get around. With a more balanced defense and a acquiring a key part in their offense NYI could be the team to beat.

Goaltending: A

One of the best goaltending duos in the league, with two number one goaltenders sharing the number one spot. Roloson has the starting job at the moment but on any given night NYI can play Cloutier instead and still win.

Future: A-

The future looks good for NYI, having both goalies being able to stay around for a while. They also can brag about having Milan Hejduk and Brad Stuart. They also have Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Simon Gagne to make them one of the most exciting teams on the ice.

New York Rangers:

Offense: C-

One of the more weaker offenses in the league, the Rangers best player is Mark Messier. One of the greatest players of all-time, but being 40+ has hampered his play as he is not able to put the puck in the net as well as he use to. With their best player not being to consistantly put up a lot of points, that doesn't go well for the rest of the team.

Defense: D+

The reason why the Rangers got a better mark then they should have gotten is because of Leetch. Yes, he is old but that hasn't stopped him from playing with the best. He is the Rangers best player and is counted on, in every game situation.

Goaltending: A-

The best part of the Rangers. With both Rick DiPietro and Dan Blackburn, the Rangers have two experience youthful goaltenders. If they can build around these two I could see them looking like the '94 Rangers all over again.

Future: A

With many of the players on the Rangers nearing retirement, New York has spent the time to acquire a lot of great young players so that when their "go to" guys retire, they will have other players to step in and take the spot.

Ottawa :

Offense: A

With the first line of Mogilny, Thornton, and Hossa, Ottawa looks poised to advance far into the playoffs. After having 3 players in the top 10 in scoring last year( Sundin was the third player). Ottawa traded away the slumping Sundin to LA for Joe Thornton. Looking to have another big season with a couple players scoring 100+ points Ottawa is definitely playing their cards right in order to try and get there.

Defense: A-

A fairly balanced line-up allows Ottawa to keep goals from being scored against and allowing the forwards to be able to pound as many pucks into the net as possible. Marek Malik is a pleasant surprise and is able to contribute almost daily. With young comer Joni Pitkanen, The Senators will have one of the best defenseman in the league in just a few short years.

Goaltending: B+

After being vastly under-rated during the first season, Kipprusoff launched up to a 91 to properly display his skill level. However, after Kipprusoff, the back-up in Ryan Miller, a prospect but he has yet to prove that he can play at the NHL level.

Future: A

Continuing with the trend of high marks Ottawa gets another A for having so many high potential players. They are set in every position for years and years to come.

Philadelphia :

Offense: C+

After trading away Demitra, the Flyers gave up all hope of gaining a playoff spot and they have now entered a rebuilding mode. The former President Trophy winners were unable to continue their success and have let there young players play. In a few short years Philadelphia will look to regain the title of the team with the most points in the regular season.

Defense: D

The Flyers don't possess anyone on the back-end that can really keep up to players such as Kovalchuk, and Nash but not to be underestimated they can still hold their own in tight situations. The Flyers possess probably one of the worst defensive corps in the league.

Goaltending: C+

When the Flyers traded away Khabibulan, they showed the first signs of giving up on the season and going into a rebuilding mode. Philadelphia picked up a young goalie from Chicago , and only a few days later picked up Lehtonen from Calgary .

Future: A

After hitting the rebuild button and picking up the second best prospect in the world, Philadelphia has lifted a cloud over head and looks to win the cup in a few years.

Phoenix :

Offense: A

The Coyotes have the best player in the CMHL right now in Brett Hull. He is absolutely tearing up the league and leaving the rest of the competition in the dust. The good thing for Phoenix is that, that isn't the only all-star player they have. Shane Doan and the number one prospect in the world Alexander Ovechkin both are playing great and continue to make the Coyotes be a surprise.

Defense: B+

Although not being able to boast one of the best defenses in the league, Phoenix still has very respectable players on the backend. The defense isn't as good as the offense but they can still get the job done.

Goaltending: B

In a few years, with Marc-Andre Fleury taking over the reins the Coyotes will have a brick wall in net. However until then Phoenix 's goaltending continues to be the weakest part of the team.

Future: A+

Alexander Ovechkin, Marc-Andre Fleury, Fischer, Klesla, the list continues throughout the rest of the team. All these big names who have already proven themselves will continue to play "big" and lead Phoenix for many years.

Pittsburgh :

Offense: A

One of the most exciting offenses in the league, Pittsburgh has one of the most controversial players in the league centering their top line. That player is Jeremy Roenick, the out-spoken player has played very well since coming over to Pittsburgh . Unlike other teams the Penguins are solid from line one to line four.

Defense: B+

The Penguins best player, is from their blueline; Rob Blake is the catalyst of the team and can change the outcome of a game with one shift. You need a clutch player then you need Rob Blake. Unfortunately, after Blake there is a big difference between him and the next best defenseman.

Goaltending: A-

After trading away the struggling Turco to Vancouver , the Penguins received Marc Denis, who was then traded to Toronto for David Aeibischer. Since acquiring Aeibischer, the Penguins have moved into second place in the East.

Future: C+

Only having one big name prospect in the organization, Pittsburgh can only hope that the players they have now can stay around.

San Jose :

Offense: C-

When the new GM took over he had one goal in mind and that was to make San Jose into a contender in a few years, not in the present day. Trading away Yashin, and acquiring both Corey Perry and Mike Richards assured he had a plan in mind.

Defense: C

San Jose has a lot of players who are way past their prime. Chelios and Schneider are the two defenseman that lead the Sharks but the uncertainty of them retiring any year has the Sharks trying to deal them. They have very few defense-men over 80 and if they trade Chelios and Schneider that number will decrease by 2/3.

Goaltending: B-

The Sharks are looking to deal Cechmanek to make room for Phillipe Sauve to take the number one spot and give him as much time as possible. Another indication that San Jose wants to rebuild.

Future: A

In the midst of San Jose acquiring many young players, they have brightened their future and yet still hold the 8 th spot in the West.

St. Louis :

Offense: A

One of the fastest most skilled two lines in the league. The top 4 are Alfredsson, Gabrorik, Tkachuk, and Marc Savard. After a dissappointing first season that was filled with GM's that changed about as often as you change clothes, we finally found one that turned this team into a winner. Now second in the West they are just behind Dallas for the first.

Defense: B

Nothing like their offense, the Blues do not have a very strong blue line. If St. Louis were able to acquire another stud defense-man they would be probably be taking over first place in the West.

Goaltending: B+

As said by Cmousers himself, Auld is under-rated and continues to surprise everyone as he has taking the number one job. A lot of pressure on a young goaltender but yet he has handled himself great and continues to allow St. Louis to push for the top spot in the West.

Future: A

Two players come to mind as soon as you think of St. Louis ; those two players are Marian Gaborik and Alexander Auld. With those two at the helms, the Blues look set for the future.

Tampa Bay :

Offense: A+

The most high rated players on one team, is what you think of when you think of the Lightning. Tampa has just recently re-united the pairing of Naslund and Bertuzzi which only time will tell on how well the trade worked out.

Defense: A+

Tampa has probably the best defense in the league, after acquiring Neidermeyer from Columbus , and already having Hamrlik, and Ohlund the Lightning have one of the deepest bluelines in the game.

Goaltending: B-

The weakest part of Tampa . If somehow they can find a way to trade for a better goaltender than I think this could be the potential President Trophy winning team.

Future: F

The worst future of any team in the league. Tampa Bay is built to win, and to win today. They are laying it all on the line right now and are hoping their plan doesn't back fire.

Toronto :

Offense: A

A fairly deep offensive unit, is the core of the Maple Leafs. After the first two lines, the 3 rd and 4 th lines are not well balanced. Toronto 's forward core is under producing however, and needs to pull out of the slump to allow Toronto to make the playoffs.

Defense: A-

A very balanced defense, just like their offense, Toronto has all their starting defenseman over 80 overall. However they do not have a big punch coming from the back end with their top defenseman being only an 85.

Goaltending: B+

Just acquiring Marc Denis from Pittsburgh has allowed them to add another important piece to the puzzle. The Maple Leafs also have a good backup that has proven himself through many years of being a number one.

Future: C-

One of the more weaker teams in terms of future. With no players with 90+ potential, the biggest need of concern for Toronto is the future. They have Samsonov, and Denis, but need a few blue-chip prospects.

Vancouver :

Offense: A

Having a top line of Nash, Sakic, and Heatley; Vancouver has one of the best lines in the league. Their second line is very skilled as well, but after the 1 st and 2 nd lines the team doesn't have many players on their 3 rd and 4 th lines to add some secondary scoring.

Defense: A

Vancouver has a very deep blue line with only one defenseman under 80. Vancouver has two of the top two young defenseman in the league in Eric Brewer and Jay Bouwmeester. After those two there is a pleasant surprise in Phillipe Boucher, Boucher has come out of no where and leads Vancouver defensemen in points.

Goaltending: A+

The biggest move Vancouver made this year was acquiring Marty Turco from Pittsburgh . Having Marc Denis at the beginning of the season, Vancouver realized that if they were to have a chance they would need to get a goalie that would be consistant. Although getting Turco came at a high price, Vancouver was happy with getting him. Johan Hedberg is the Canucks' backup and posts impressive numbers every time he plays.

Future: A+

Having Nash, Heatley, Brewer, Bouwmeester, and Phanuef on one team Vancouver is set now and for the future. They look to have one of the brightest futures in the league and look forward to seeing the team in a few years.

Washington :

Offense: A

Guerin, Recchi, Deadmarsh, there isn't much of a surprise to see that Washington leads the East almost half way through the season. When Guerin stays healthy it becomes almost impossible to beat the Capitals when he is playing at full strength.

Defense: B

Not as deep as their offense, Washington still has a relatively good defense, but they lack a stud defenseman. If they are able to get that defenseman are we looking at the future cup winner?

Goaltending: A-

After trading Brodeur at the deadline last season, and then recently trading Thibault for Belfour , Washington has gone through a lot of goaltenders throughout the first two seasons. The good thing for them is that every goaltender they seem to have always puts up great numbers.

Future: C+

After Eminger there really isn't anything to be excited for in Washington . Although they have some good prospects it is going to take a long time for them to be considered "great".

Thanks for taking the time to read this, as it took me a few hours to write. Please no one get mad at me, I was just glancing through the teams and rating them how I saw them, no one has to take these seriously but I thought I would give you all something to read. Thanks.
