The rebuilding continues in Montreal with the recently acquired Dustin Brown moved to Calgary for Logan Brown (pictured), Philip Svedeback and an exchange of draft picks.  Not a big trade by any means, but the Canadiens continue to get younger and try to stock the shelves of a franchise that's seen better days. 

Dustin Brown is by far the biggest name in the deal.  He hadn't been with the team for very long, acquired by the team in the Jaden Schwartz trade to Seattle.  That being said, he had performed reasonably well on a scoring line.  Here's a look at the deal .. including a review of what Hab fans can expect from the recently acquired players.

A look at the players coming back.

Logan Brown (C): According to McKeen's Hockey, "A massive center, Brown has always been lauded for his playmaking ability, vision, and puck protection talents. He can drive time of possession in the offensive end. His play away from the puck has certainly come a long way from his time in the OHL, but consistency has remained an issue." 

He's proven he can dominate at the minor league level, now he has to prove he can do it with the big club.  He's likely to get that opportunity soon.

It is expected that Necas will finish the year with Hamilton, but he figures to make next year's big team out of camp if everything goes well.

Philip Svedeback (G): According to NHL.com, ""He's got(ten) decent size, looks like he's going to go the college route. He's got a few schools talking to him," said (Ryan) Nadeau. "For us, it's a good path, especially for a goaltender."

There is little doubt that Svedback is a longterm project for the Habs, but the depth in goal is non-existent so the only thing stopping him is himself.
