Predictions for the west to make playoffs
Avs. Their roster looks incomplete so I can’t make a true judgment with this team but they will make it if Demko stands on his head and Scheifele plus Tkachuk can outscore any mistakes. A solid year from Fox would help
Prediction : bubble
Stars. This team looks built in a manner that’ll grind you down then one of their many stars will pot in the easy marker! Having Anderson backed up by Schneider makes this a very scary team.
Prediction : Lock to make it.
Minny. Goaltending is a question mark, Rittich has been known to let in many weak goals but his fundamentals look solid. This team from 1st to last looks built to outscore their mistakes.
Prediction : makes it
Preds. After a late season run last year that propelled them from bottom dweller to runners up for lord Stanley the belief is that the production will be tough to replicate but they can’t be counted out. When your top D pairing is potentially Risto and Hedman and you have Ovie on the PP. anything can happen, like last year.
Prediction : Bubble
Blues. After a disappointing year last year the belief is the loaded blues are gonna come out gunning it. Showing they can’t be messed with.
Prediction: makes it
The Peg
A year after this team failed to make the playoffs, they look drastically different.
Zegras-hall-stammer-nuge -Thomas- Silfverberg-Makar-Sergachev. This lineup is freaking potent. Anything less than makeing the playoffs will be abject failure on the part of this management group.
Prediction : lock to make it.
Vegas
They look good, not great but are well built from top to bottom plus they have excellent goaltending so this is easy….
Prediction: makes it
LA.
The defence doesn’t look very defensive so they’ll need to outscore their mistakes.
Luckily they look built like they can.
Prediction : makes it
Vancouver
They can’t be slept on. I personally didn’t understand how they did as well as they did last year but they proved me wrong, they are going to suffer a bit until they figure out the Morrisey contract issue but it won’t cost them a playoff spot.
Prediction : lock to make it
Seattle
They surprised in their first year and only look like they are going up in the standings this team is well built and well managed. They will continue to surprise people this year.
Prediction : makes it
Based of this list the above teams will finish 1-10 in the west but the list below is my expert guess as to the standings at seasons end.

Also, side note. My coworker I was supposed to co-author this report with decide to prematurely release his article and included a league wide analysis instead of sticking to the assigned conference. As such I will be releasing a top 10 list in predicted order of seasons ending standings. Unfortunately I haven’t had the opportunity to look into the teams enough to give some insight into my decisions so enjoy
