CMHL East and ICHF West take the cake in mid-season All-Star Games! Written by habsfan93 - January 28th, 2023

It's time for that mid-season classic that we all know and love!

In the CMHL All-Star Game, the stars came out and the goalies went into witness protection to save themselves from all the shots that faced as the East narrowly beat the West by a final tally of 17-15. Voted in as a starter by the GMs, Leon Draisaitl of the Canucks was named the game's 1st star with a game leading 6 points (3G, 3A) on the West's top line. Kirill Kaprizov of the Blue Jackets and Brock Nelson of the Kraken were the game's 2nd and 3rd stars, with 5 and 4 points respectively.

It was a strange game as the West completely dominated the East through 40 mins, leading by a score of 15-9 after two frames. But then GM Stajanfan put something in the team's Gatorade at the 2nd intermission and the East roared back and demolished the West in the third, scoring 8 goals on 10 shots and not even allowing the West to take a shot!!! What a turnaround!

Over in the ICHF, the West proved to be too much for the East to handle all game long, winning 13-8. After scoring the first goal of the game, Colton Sissons of the Ducks went on to play a role in five more and was named the game's 1st star with 6 points (3G, 3A) on the night. Oliver Kylington of the Flames and Pavel Zacha of the Flyers were the game's 2nd and 3rd stars with five points apiece.

Holy smokes, in a game like that, Cody Ceci was 0G 0A 0Pts and his +/- was 0! Yet he played 21 minutes! Go figure. Written By: Peter - Ottawa GM (2023-01-29 10:55:47)
