The Seattle Kraken were busy this off-season tweaking their 1st year team into a playoff contender for year two. After making a surprise visit to the playoffs and losing in the first round the Kraken need to make some moves on the back end and bottom six. GM Giddens mentioned that even though they lost in the first round he was more then happy with the Kraken's performance in year one in the CMHL. With a long list of historic GM's and talented teams the Krkaen surpassed goals and expectations in year one.
Kraken made moves by re-signing Jack Campbell and promoting him to the CMHL. Campbell came off an amazing 2021-2022 season in the ICHF where he led the Spokane Chiefs to the playoffs. The Kraken also signed Justin Schultz in the off-season along with some other strong youth. Seattle also brought in veteran centerman, Sean Monahan in a deal. Sean will bring some depth at center behind Duchene and some leadership to a young and talented team.
Looking at the bottom six the Kraken are going to look to some youth in Micahael McLeod, Jake DeBrusk and William Eklund. Hoping for them to provide some excitement and speed along the bottom lines. Here's the projected opening day line-up for the 2022-2023 Seattle Kraken:
Marchesaultt - Duchene - Tarasenko
Dadonov - Monahan - Yamamoto
Heinen - McLeod - DeBrusk
Kindopp - Johnson - Eklund
Campbell / Dreidger
