
Montreal Prospect Spotlight - Philip Svedeback

An updated look at the statistics for all of the prospects in the Montreal Canadiens organization. This week’s spotlight is on Philip Svedeback (pictured). The Stockholm, Sweden native is in his second season with the Habs. He is the number one goalie for Providence College in his second year playing in the NCAA. This season Philip has played in 13 games and has eight wins, three losses and two ties. Svedeback has a goals against average of 1.86 and a 0.917 save percentage. Last year he had an overall record of 14-10-7 in 34 games, with a GAA of 2.19 and a 0.909 Sv%.

An early look at the statistics for all of the prospects in the Montreal Canadiens organization. This week’s spotlight is on Carson Rehkopf (pictured). The Barrie, Ontario native was selected 69th overall in the 2023 CMHL Entry Draft by the Vegas Golden Knights. He was acquired in a package by Montreal for Patrik Laine. This season with the Ontario Hockey League's Kitchener Rangers, Rehkopf has started off on fire with 33 points (19-14-33) in 19 games. In 68 games last season with Kitchener, he produced 59 points (30-29-59).

Montreal Prospect Spotlight - Rasmus Kumpulainen

An early look at the statistics for all of the prospects in the Montreal Canadiens organization. This week’s spotlight is on Rasmus Kumpulainen (pictured). The Lahti, Finland native was selected 65th overall in the 2023 CMHL Entry Draft. This season with the Oshawa Generals, Kumpulainen has started off very well with 14 points (6-8-14) in only 15 games. In 41 games last season in the U20 SM-sarja (FIN), he posted 34 points (11-23-34).

Montreal Prospect Spotlight - Andrew Cristall

A very early look at the statistics for all of the prospects in the Montreal Canadiens organization. This week’s spotlight is on Andrew Cristall (pictured). The native of Vancouver, BC was selected 33rd overall in the 2023 CMHL Entry Draft. In 54 games last season in the Western Hockey League (WHL), he posted 95 points (39-56-95). This season with Kelowna, Cristall has started off red-hot with a sparkling 23 points (7-16-23) in only 10 games.

Last year was a tough one and honestly the upcoming year doesn't seem to be looking that rosy either. They know that this season will test the patience of the long-suffering fans of this once glorious franchise. The GM keeps telling fans and all that will listen that this is for the best, but eventually there will come a time that the rebuild must stop. You don’t trade many of your best players that used to be part of the core and expect to turn it around instantly. That being said, the team is probably worse than even they would have thought. We take a look at the players and picks that have been moved in, including Martin Jones (pictured), as well as have been moved out. We also take a look at what is expected to be the lineup for the foreseeable future.

Montreal Prospect Spotlight - Sergei Murashov

A very early look at the statistics for all of the prospects in the Montreal Canadiens organization. This week’s spotlight is on Sergey Murashov (pictured). The native of Yaroslavl, Russia was selected 129th overall in the 2022 CMHL Entry Draft. Last season in the Russian junior league (MHL), he won 24 times and finished with a sparkling 1.53 GAA and a Save percentage of .948 for Loko Yaroslavl. This season, Murashov started off a bit slower by losing two of his first four games. However, both of his wins were by a shutout. He has 2.51 GAA and a SV% of .912, both stats we expect to lower significantly by season’s end.

Our final look at the statistics for all of the prospects in the Montreal Canadiens organization. This week’s spotlight is on Lucas Raymond (pictured). The Gothenburg, Sweden native was selected with Toronto's first pick in the first round ... 5th overall in the 2020 CMHL Entry Draft. Raymond played last season with the Detroit Red Wings in the NHL. This season with the Detroit Red Wings he finished with 45 points (17-28-45) in 74 games.

Montreal Prospects Spotlight - Mackie Samoskevich

An updated look at the statistics for all of the prospects in the Montreal Canadiens organization. This week’s spotlight is on Mackie Samoskevich (pictured). The native of Newtown, Connecticut was acquired in a trade with Carolina late last season. The former first rounder was drafted 25th overall in the 2021 CMHL Entry Draft. This past season, he produced 43 points (20-23-43) with the University of Michigan in In the NCAA. He recently turned pro and has picked up two assists with the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL.

Montreal Prospects Stats 2022-23 - Calle Clang

An updated look at the statistics for all of the prospects in the Montreal Canadiens organization. This week’s spotlight is on Calle Clang (pictured). The native of Olofstrom in Sweden, was acquired in a trade with Arizona earlier this season. He was drafted 90th overall (third round) in the 2020 CMHL Entry Draft. In the SHL he finished with a record of 12 wins, 10 losses a goals against average of 2.69 and a save percentage of .901 for Rogle before making a recent jump to San Diego of the AHL. With the Gulls, he has a tidy 2.28 GAA and a 0.915 save percentage.
