The Face Of Chicago Changes Written by Hawky - October 24th, 2009
Sometimes change is can be a good thing. Sometimes it is heartbreaking. In the case of Chicago yesterday,it is both. Alexander Ovechkin is no longer the face of the Chicago Blackhawks.....

Yes, trading Ovechkin, the face of the Hawks, was indeed a heartbreaking mement. However with that also comes good. Back in Chicago is Joe Thornton, and with him in net Roberto Luongo. Pekka Rinne is off to Ottawa with AO. Rinne was doing a great job for Chicago minding the nets. However we were worried about his stamina. He didn't seem to be cut out for the long haul of the CMHL season. We felt the upgrade in net was worth the changes made. All in all both teams saw 4 players move out. Ovechkin out Thornton in Rinne out Luongo in Ribiero out Hemsky in Salo out Niskanen in Chicago is sure to miss the scoring and puck handling of Salo and Ribiero. But we welcome the addition of youth and promise in Hemsky and Niskanen.

Ovechkin and Crosby traded out of Chicago in two consecutive years since my demise. What the hell is going on!!!
