FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Willis Era Begins in Boston

BOSTON, Mass., April 2nd, 2022 -- Rob Willis is officially your new General Manager of the Boston Bruins. The team introduced the tenured veteran (fantasy hockey) GM at a private impromptu media conference on Saturday afternoon. Willis comes billed as a innovative GM with a strong drafting and development record, which is something that the Bruins hope will benefit young players in the organization like Brayden Tracey, Samuel Poulin, Max Jones, Max Lajoie, Troy Terry, prized prospect Cole Sillinger, and many more.

During his first interaction with local journalists, Willis pulled no punches and had the following to say:

"I am taking over the reins of an organization that is ripe with talent, and well prepared for the future," Willis said.

"That doesn't mean that the road ahead will be easy, because there are 31 other teams in the league that are trying to improve their organizations in the same way that we will be, more or less - but, I am confident that we will have the necessary means to navigate the market moving forward.

"Our first order of business will be in doing what we can on the ice to enter back into the Eastern Conference playoff race.

"To achieve that goal, we will be open to making some adjustments and even trades ahead of the trade deadline. I have already started preliminary negotiations with several teams regarding possible trade scenarios, but there is nothing is currently imminent.

"I am still very much in the process of talent evaluation, and in ensuring that we have each player in the role that will both suit their abilities and potential, but also suit the needs of the Boston Bruins. However, as you might expect, time is not something that we have a lot of right now with the deadline looming, so this process will all very much have to be expedited in the coming days, and weeks ahead.

"I would like to say thank you to my predecessor (mixula67), but I would also like to close the door on the historical failures of this franchise. Today, marks a new era in the history of the Boston Bruins.

"This franchise is not only determined to establish itself as a perennial playoff team, but we are determined to establish ourselves as a legitimate contender for the Stanley Cup.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the Boston Bruins are back, and we are open for business!"
