Mistake into a Blessing? Written by Brian Chicago GM - April 23rd, 2024

Could not making any moves on the trade deadline have been a blessing or mistake for Chicago? Stats slow something interesting......

This season has been a challenge for Chicago Blackhawks. Coming in at the turn of a new year to take over a bunch of "misfits".  The challenge was accepted without thought or hesitation. "Hell why not? I love working with what I have, and trying to make it successful. IF it was easy, it would just be the way!", comments GM Brian Decker.

Chicago is not in the playoff run...could they have been if moves were made? Or what it unravel the team more with a team that was put together in the off-season? Let us see some stats.

This season before the  trade deadline Chicago has been struggling to make it for a push. Which gave Chicago a record of 23-31-7.  That would be considered a mistake. One note to consider, since take over, Chicago has been 21-18-5. Promising.  Now after the trade deadline however, Chicago currently sits at 13-4-1 since Mar 12th 2024. Could this be a blessing that Chicago did not infact jump the gun to downgrade for futures? (lets not forget I messed up the trade deadline time! shhh) Either way things are getting WINDY AGAIN in Chicago.

What do you think? Cheers!
